‘Eyes That See’ Celebrates Red Carpet Premiere in Peachtree City

The independent film brings mental health and cultural expectations into focus.

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. — Peachtree City welcomed the red carpet premiere of Eyes That See on Saturday, September 26, bringing attention to an independent film whose creators want to make difficult conversations easier to begin.

Written, directed and executive produced by Sherifat A. Mohammed, alongside executive producer Kristin Hunt, the film addresses mental health and the cultural expectations that can complicate asking for support.

In red carpet interviews conducted by Mark Arnold of ATL Now!, the filmmakers discussed the project’s development and its purpose for ATLnow.com. Mohammed described spending approximately a year and a half writing the screenplay while wrestling with concerns about how its subject matter would be received.

Their discussion touched on African and Black American experiences, immigrant responsibilities and the pressure to appear strong. Both filmmakers emphasized seeking professional support, with Mohammed also discussing how faith can coexist with that decision.

The cast includes Atlanta-based singer and actress Tosin “Tosinger” Taiwo as Hope Adesina. Her performance background spans musical theater, independent film and television, according to her professional biography.

The production also credits Rashidat Mohammed as producer and Jabari Payne as director of photography. Mohammed and Hunt have additional film projects in development, extending a creative partnership that includes Eyes That See.
