DAY ONE EVENTS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Event Name: The Compassion Shift Speaker Series at Emory University

Description:  Hosted by Emory University’s Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics, this speaker series celebrates the global impact made by the Emory Compassion Center over a three-decade collaboration with Emory Presidential Distinguished Professor His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The event also kicks off a Year of Compassion at Emory––an initiative honoring the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday––dedicated to exploring how compassion is expressed through teaching, research, work, service and daily interactions. The day’s sessions are: “Advancing a Global Culture of Compassion” (9-11 am), “Compassion as the Engine of Service and Global Change” (1-2 pm) featuring Richard Gere (virtual), Ajay Piramal and Sonja Lyunomirsky, and “The Future of Leadership featuring Dr. Daniel Goleman (2-3:30 pm).
